Delivery and handling on arrival
Our team delivers using a closed bakkie, with the plinth wrapped in thick felt to avoid knocks. It’s easiest if one or two adults are on site to help manoeuvre the plinth through tight passages or up stairs. At delivery, we’ll walk you through how to unbox and inspect for any bumps picked up on the road. The brass foot comes attached, so there’s no need for extra steps.
Placement, levelling and care in first week
Place the plinth on a clean, even floor, tiles, wood or screed all work well. If the floor is uneven, use felt pads on the brass foot to prevent rocking. For high-traffic spaces, we suggest positioning the plinth away from swinging doors or busy corridors. In the first week, let the timber acclimatise: wipe down daily with a dry cloth, and avoid setting heavy objects on top until the oil has cured fully.
- Felt pads supplied on request
- No assembly on site needed
- Acclimatise timber before loading
What we need before installation
To help us plan delivery, send us a quick floor measurement, photos of the space, and let us know about stairs or lifts. For galleries, share the weight and base size of the artwork going on top so we can check centre-of-gravity. Any special requests, matching to a panelled wall, or a curved stoep, just mention in your email to atelier@creationafrica.co.za.
