Delivery to your venue
Once your Journal Box Edition is ready, deliveries are arranged directly from the Woodstock workshop to your preferred address. In Cape Town, we prefer to hand-deliver by bakkie where possible, so you can confirm the box and its contents are in perfect nick. For customers upcountry or further afield, we use trusted couriers with experience transporting objects for gallery or press purposes.
When confirming your order, please let us know if there are any special access instructions, like a security gate in Menlyn or shared loading bay in Umhlanga. If your venue is in a high-traffic location, we can arrange for delivery outside peak hours.
Preparation and placement
There’s no tricky install required, but we recommend clearing a sturdy, level surface ahead of time, whether in a display cabinet, library shelf, or on a central table. If your box is to be used in a public or semi-public setting, a discreet shelf or nook away from direct sunlight is ideal to protect both the finish and any paper contents.
Before placing it, give the space a quick dusting to avoid grit scratching the lacquer. For ongoing use, open the latch gently, as the brass will keep its shape best with even pressure.
First week care and information
After installation or first use, we suggest checking that the foam nest is sitting snugly and that the latch clicks shut without resistance. If your box will be handled by staff or visitors, show them how to open and close the latch properly to avoid accidental knocks.
Should you need to reorganise or repack the contents frequently, let the atelier know if you notice any signs of foam compression or latch loosening. For any care or repair queries, you’re welcome to email us at atelier@creationafrica.co.za with your edition number and a photo.
