Creation Africa opens Woodstock atelier for fabricated form

Creation Africa is pleased to announce the opening of our atelier in Woodstock, Cape Town, where our team designs and fabricates distinctive furniture, lighting and objects. The atelier is now open by appointment for sample hours, giving visitors the chance to experience our range of forms first-hand. These include the Veld Tray, Baobab Lamp, Karoo Screen, Harbour Shelf, Textile Panel Frame, Ceramic Studio Jig, Journal Box Edition, Maker Mark Brass, Canopy Pendant, Foyer Plinth, Studio Bench and Map Cabinet South.

Our atelier brings together material craft and form exploration in the heart of Cape Town’s creative district. From timber and steel to ceramic and textile, each piece is shaped, finished and assembled here by our fabrication lead and collaborators. The Woodstock space is a working studio, with active fabrication as well as a setting for appointments with designers, clients and friends of the studio.

What the atelier means for designers, lodges, galleries and homeowners

With the Woodstock atelier open, designers can now connect directly with the team behind each form. Whether you are outfitting a lodge in the Lowveld, preparing a foyer for a gallery launch in Joburg or looking for a distinctive piece for your braai room or stoep, our studio welcomes you. We understand the demands of coastal humidity, city life and remote landscapes, and our fabrication approach means we can advise on materials and finishes suited for your environment.

Homeowners and collectors are invited to explore forms that are made for real spaces, from the soft light of the Baobab Lamp to the utility of the Studio Bench. Showroom hosts, including Ms Lerato Molefe in Pretoria and our team in Rosebank, Menlyn, Gateway Umhlanga, Canal Walk, Tyger Valley, Brooklyn Design Square and V&A Waterfront, are available for visits if you cannot make it to Woodstock.

For journalists: images and interviews available

Journalists interested in covering Creation Africa’s atelier launch are welcome to request high-resolution images, atelier process details and background on specific forms. Interviews can be arranged with Ms Zanele Mokoena, Managing Director, who says: 'We welcome the community into our workspace. Each form tells a story, shaped by our hands here in Woodstock.' Fabrication lead Mr Johan de Vries is available for technical insight, while Ms Amina Patel can offer perspectives from Johannesburg.
