Delivery and arrival
When your Maker Mark Brass ships out, it’s wrapped in felt inside a small box, with screws and a care note tucked in. For local Cape Town jobs, we’ll sometimes deliver in person by bakkie if it’s part of a larger studio fit-out. Otherwise, expect a courier drop-off to your site. Once you receive it, store it indoors until you’re ready to fit, brass will pick up fingerprints easily in transit.
Preparation and fitting
Before install day, let us know the exact material and thickness of your door or surround. Most clients send a quick photo and confirm if it’s timber, steel, or brick. Mark the placement with tape and pre-drill the holes so the brass screws seat neatly. The plate should sit flush, not proud. For painted doors, use a bit of beeswax on the screws so they don’t chip the finish. First week after fitting, wipe daily with a dry cloth to remove installation dust and fingerprints.
What we need
When you place your order, email us at atelier@creationafrica.co.za with your door dimensions, material, and whether you want a specific edition number or sequence. If you have multiple doors or tricky surfaces, a short site sketch is a big help. Let us know about any local climate factors, sea air, direct sun, or high humidity, so we can adjust the finishing accordingly.
