Studio settings that suit
The Maker Mark Brass was first designed for our own atelier entrance, but it’s found a second home in Maker residencies and cultural venues where makers come and go with fresh hands every season. It carries the story quietly, never shouting for attention. In shared creative spaces, it’s used to credit both permanent teams and visiting collaborators, especially for editioned runs or pop-up exhibitions.

Objects in conversation
We like pairing the Maker Mark Brass with the Baobab Lamp in a foyer or the Harbour Shelf in a gallery entrance. The warm brass quietly echoes the soft patina of the lamp’s hardware, and the hand-cast feel sits nicely next to the clean lines of the shelf. For more tactile spaces, consider placing a Veld Tray nearby, its textured rim brings out the subtle handwork in the brass. These objects don’t compete, but rather support a sense of made-ness.
Finishes and essays
If you’re deciding on finishes, muted brass pairs best with natural timber, painted brick, or raw concrete surrounds. It’s not meant for glass or gloss steel. For more thoughts, see our essay ‘Door marks without vanity’, which unpacks why these plates matter, and ‘Brass patina notes’ if you’re concerned about how the finish will change. We’re happy to match the Mark’s tone to existing fixtures in your space, if needed.
