Getting the cabinet on site
Map Cabinet South is delivered by bakkie with glass top and body transported separately for safety. Our team will coordinate a day with you for offloading, bringing it straight to the room if access is clear. If your building has stairs, lifts or tight corridors, let us know in advance so we send enough hands or plan alternate routes. Please clear a space of at least 1.5 by 1.2 metres before our arrival to lay out the components safely.
Assembly and placement
On site, we position the cabinet where it will live, attach the brass pulls and runners, and fit the glass top last. The glass is lowered gently and checked for level to avoid stress points. No fixing to wall or floor is necessary in most cases, but for public or high-traffic settings we can anchor the cabinet discreetly if you request it. The team will give it a final wipe, clear packaging, and show you how the drawers work.
Care and first-week tips
We recommend keeping paper or textiles in the drawers until the sealant has had a few days to gas off, especially in smaller rooms. For the first week, wipe spills immediately and let us know if any drawer feels sticky or misaligned. If you’re in a coastal town or have high humidity, consider a silica sachet in each drawer.
