Getting it to you: delivery and handling
Veld Trays travel well: we wrap each in brown paper and recycled bubble for bakkie or courier transport. For hospitality sites, we’ll pack trays in batches of four to stack safely. On arrival, there’s no complex unpacking, just check that the oil finish is intact and no corners are knocked.
If your order is for a large lodge or public cafe, we can time the delivery to slot in with your kitchen or floor installation. Let us know your opening schedule and a direct contact for site access, so there are no surprises.
Placement and first-week care
No fixing required: place the tray where it will be used, ideally on a dry, level surface. For the first week, keep it out of standing water and avoid leaving wet cups or bottles on the surface overnight. A dry soft cloth is all you’ll need at this stage.
We recommend showing your staff how to wipe and store the trays after each use. If you plan to keep them stacked, rotate the order so each tray sees light and air. This prevents the bottom tray from dulling or trapping moisture, especially in humid kitchens.
- Stack or store flat
- Dry after each use
- Avoid prolonged moisture
- Rotate trays when stacked
What we need before install day
Before delivery, send us a note with your preferred drop-off times, contact for site access, and a quick summary of how you’ll use the trays, breakfast, prep, bar, or serving station. If you have a region with unusual climate or ventilation, let us know so we can check the oil cure. For projects with multiple objects, tell us if you want the trays coordinated with other timber finishes, so we bring the right samples.
